Erin Rees Clayton, Ph.D. supports GFI’s efforts to generate and communicate data-driven insights to accelerate the global alternative protein scientific ecosystem.
Areas of expertise: alternative protein scientific research needs, research funding, research project management.
Erin supports SciTech initiatives by synthesizing alternative protein research and ecosystem analyses into digestible and actionable resources for GFI and external stakeholders, including scientists and research funders. In collaboration with GFI’s U.S. and international SciTech teams, she helps communicate technical analyses and new research developments, identify high impact research priorities in need of funding, and support efforts to secure additional research funding for these key priorities. Prior to joining GFI, Erin was a research faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from DePauw University, a Ph.D. in genetics from Duke University, and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in epidemiology from the University of Michigan.
