About
The University of Melbourne is one of Australia’s leading hubs for alternative protein research. With its forward-thinking sustainability charter, the university has founded the Future Food Hallmark Research Initiative, which brings together interdisciplinary researchers to answer questions necessary to accelerate Australia’s budding research space in alternative proteins.
The Melbourne Alternative Protein Project is the first of its kind in Australia. It aims to facilitate strong connections between students, researchers, and the alternative protein industry nationally and in Asia-Pacific. We are a group of passionate students striving to build a sustainable and just food system by creating an active community for alternative protein research, education and innovation.
