The UPenn Alt Protein Project provides a centralized space for students to engage with alternative proteins through education, research, and innovation. Our primary goals are to foster a community of those excited by alternative proteins, develop educational curricula, and lay the foundation for research and entrepreneurship in this field. By providing both education for those just learning about alternative proteins to creating opportunities for students to embed themselves in this space from both a scientific and business perspective, we hope to drive deep curiosity and innovation at UPenn. 

The entrepreneurial ecosystem at UPenn is ripe for alternative protein innovation. Students have access to facilities like the Food Innovation Lab for hands-on opportunities to develop their skills and future products. UPenn also offers unique collaborative opportunities in the business and food sectors through organizations like the Wharton Agribusiness Club, the only one of its kind in the Ivy League.
