Year in Review 2021
This year’s annual report theme—seeding radical change—takes its inspiration from the world of botany, where the term “radicle” refers to a plant’s primary root, the first growth that enables the young seedling to anchor itself in the soil to eventually breakthrough toward the sun. From biodiversity-based solutions in Brazil to the U.S. government’s largest investment in cultivated meat to date, milestones achieved in 2021 grew and diversified the field, spurred science and innovation, and elevated alt proteins as a global climate solution.
